Trinity Lutheran church is honored to host a concert this year for the Juniata College Concert Choir on March 7 at 7:00pm. The Juniata College Concert Choir, under direction of Dr. Russell Shelley has been touring all over the world, including more recent trips to Germany, Costa Rica, China, Guatemala, and this summer, will be performing in Hungary and the Czech Republic. Composed of 50 students from the College, the auditioned members of the Concert Choir come from several academic disciplines available at Juniata. Although there is no music major or minor at Juniata, choir members’ dedication and commitment to sharing the beauty of choral music provides meaningful experiences for both singer and listener. Repertoire focuses on historical secular music, ranging from madrigals to jazz. Examples of their 2016 set list include pieces composed by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Giovanni Palestrina, Ola Gjeilo, Moses Hogan, and Antonín Dvořák. Students in the group are from all over the United States, including some international students, as well as some current members residing in our very own Kutztown! Admission is free and parking is available behind the church.
